BMCS Jon Ostrowski joins GTSC with over 26 years in the United States Coast Guard Reserves and maintains his Active Duty Reserve status at Coast Guard Recruiting Command where he manages all the Temporary Active Reserve Recruiters (TARRS) across the nation. Following the September 11th attacks on the United States, in October 2001 he was deployed with Port Security Unit 311 to Operation Southern Watch/Enduring Freedom in Bahrain and in 2003 he served during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Kuwait and Iraq. He has also been deployed to South Korea for special joint training exercises with South Korean and other NATO forces. Early in his USCG career he served aboard Coast Guard Cutters Diligence and Escape.His USCG training includes:
Senior Enlisted Leadership Course, Chief Petty Officer Academy
Korean Intelligence course at March Air Force Base
Basic Battle Skills School (Camp Pendleton), Machine gun instructor school
UTB-41 Coxswain School, Tactical Combat Coxswain Certification
In addition, Ostrowski serves as President of the Chief Petty Officers Association and Director of Government Affairs for the Non-Commissioned Officers Association.
His experience in the USCG provides him with a unique look at the nation’s homeland security needs and is combined with his extensive experience consulting with and managing various companies. Ostrowski specializes in accounting, IT systems and technology, operations, manufacturing and inventory management. He is adept at reorganizations and has extensive experience writing accounting, POS and specialized business software for manufacturing and IT companies. He has written numerous specialized accounting systems to track and manage deliveries, inventory and real-time tracking.
