Mr. Jones is the Founder, President & CEO of The Edgewater Group DC.  The Edgewater Group DC provides advisory and consultation services to both industry partners and the federal government.  The Edgewater Group DC’s primary mission is to assist small, minority-owned business with strategic acquisition across the federal government in addition to providing advisory services to industry partners across the federal landscape and private sector.

As a former federal executive with over 36 years of experience, Mr. Jones has worked in challenging positions throughout his career. He was appointed to Senior Executive Service in 2008.  His service as a former DHS Senior Executive (SES) remains a testament to his commitment to public service while demonstrating leadership, vision and recognition of our Nation’s most critical asset – “people” – for the hard work and dedication to mission.

Mr. Jones served as the Principal Deputy Chief Information Officer for USCIS. In this position Mr. Jones was responsible for the oversight and management of agency-wide CIO Initiatives from acquisition to delivery with an annual budget of $1B and the annual execution of a $1.4B budget in total for service delivery to over 25,000 customers. Mr. Jones has served his former agency in the acting capacities of Southeast Regional Director and Chief Information Officer.

Mr. Jones formerly served as Deputy Executive Director of the DHS Information Technology Services Office where he was responsible for the oversight and management of Department-wide infrastructure services with an annual budget of $700M and the annual execution budget for service delivery to some 8,500 headquarters customers. His primary focus was the integration, consolidation and transformation of Component infrastructures into a single world-class system capable of supporting the significant demands required of an organization of more than 250,000 DHS government employees while leading a diverse workforce of program executives and staff.

Prior to his Headquarters appointment as a Senior Executive, Mr. Jones served as Deputy Chief Information Officer at DHS U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Mr. Jones holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from the American University, in Washington, DC; Pi Alpha Alpha; is a graduate of the inaugural DHS SES Candidate Development Program (2008); is a Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government, Senior Executive Fellow, and a Graduate of the Federal Executive Institute.
